We Need Art—and You—Now More Than Ever
Like our community, the Blanton faces unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a nonprofit, the Blanton depends heavily on admissions, membership, donations, events, and other income to be able to pay for our programs and staff—so this closure significantly impacts us. We also know that when we reopen, it will be at a reduced capacity to allow for social distancing, therefore limiting admissions income for an additional, extended period. We have made substantial changes to our operating budget to try to mitigate this unprecedented situation, but are still facing a financial shortfall.
We have set-up the Blanton Together Fund to support our COVID-19 response plan, which includes:
- Supporting our staff as they continue to contribute to the museum’s mission during these unusual times
- Serving our community by developing new digital resources and teaching tools that enhance the educational experience of K-12 and university students, from anywhere they may be learning
- Creating virtual programs and content for you and our public to enjoy from home
- Continuing to build the museum’s robust program that you love and count on, for when we are eventually able to return to our full capacity
